We have purchased a Simoniz S1700 pressure washer on the Jul 21 2007. Since then, we have only used the pressure washer 3 times. In Feb 2008, we have found that the Gun Assembly has a very serious water leak. So we called the Simoniz Service department and we have been told that we needed to purchase a replacement part for this Gun Assembly. Including the shipping, it would cost around Can $40.My complaints are
1. We have only used the Pressure Washer 3 times. We are totally not satisfied with the reliability of the product.
2. Even though we spend another Can $40 to replace the Gun Assembly, how can we be sured how long it will last? If I spend another Can $40 for another unreliable spare parts. I prefer to spend some more money to buy a new pressure washer of another brand name.
This is the response from Simoniz
Mr. Poon,
Thank you for contacting us and giving us the opportunity to answer your questions.
The most common reason for failure at this time of year occurs from the lack of proper winterization causing the part to suffer frost damages.
Replacement gun assemblies are available at our call center for $22.00 each plus applicable shipping and taxes: in your case the total after taxes and shipping is $39.69
Regards,
Alain Nantel

I am living in Vancouver and I don't think the weather here will cause the freezing problem. If we cannot even put this pressure washer in our garage at Vancouver, please do not buy this junk anymore

1. Written by Albert, on 19-03-2010 11:53 I too bought a Simoniz S1700 and only used it 3 or 4 time before it started to leak on the nozzle gun. Don't buy!!! It's such a shame how people get ripped off now days with little or no recourse. If one only knew how many products I buy don't work, break etc!..especially the stuff from China.

8. Written by Jason Li, on 08-08-2009 01:52 I bought my Simoniz in 2007 and only used it twice before the spray gun started water leaking so I returned that and got a new back. I was so stupid that I didn't realized the poor quality issue. It was okay last year. What I took it out this Summer and only used it once. The poor spray gun started neaking again. *** quality. Canadian tire ***! Right now, I am hesitant to buy a new spray gun
9. Written by Allan Dalley, on 31-07-2009 13:23 I also have a S1700 Simonize preesure washer that has a leaking gun. I'm reluctant to buy the replacement gun for fsre of the same problem. I think I will check out Princess Auto. At least they have a policy of "No sale is final". I followed the procedures for storage of the pressure washer and the gun still leaked. The answer is poor quality product. I will not buy Simonize producte in the future.
